Marvin B. Mitzner offers to his clients a treasure of experience garnered during more than 30 years of experience in government regulation, land use and zoning.

Mr. Mitzner has served as a senior member/partner at the law firms of Blank Rome LLP, Cozen O'Connor and Fishbein Badillo Wagner Harding. He previously served as the liaison to the Board of Estimate on zoning matters and served as the Assistant Corporation Counsel of the City of New York in the division that handles and litigates most agency regulatory and licensing matters.

He counsels clients in all facets of site development, including acquisitions, zoning analysis, air rights purchases and sales, negotiating leases, landmarks law, as well as development of mixed use buildings, commercial and residential properties, parking lot and garages, sidewalk cafes, restaurants, and all discretionary land use approvals. He also counsels in environmental review matters, economic development projects and tax incentive programs.

During his professional career, Mr. Mitzner has handled government regulation and land use matters before most New York City agencies and various New York State agencies.  He has successfully obtained numerous zoning, special permit and regulatory appeal approvals from the Board of Standards and Appeals, special permit and rezoning approvals from the City Planning Commission, alteration approvals from the Landmarks Preservation Commission, and all facets of approvals and reconsiderations from the Department of Buildings.

Mr. Mitzner prides himself in the ability to develop unique and effective solutions and approaches in the face of government and regulatory negativity. He believes that with the right analysis and ingenuity an initial negative response can be converted to a "yes" and is dedicated to rigors of problem solving.

A LITTLE HISTORY:

Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Mitzner was a physicist and engineer, and worked for Grumman Aerospace on the Lunar Module (LM) space program, where he tackled the cutting edge technology of the day.  Yes, he was there during the Apollo 13 mishap and rescue.  Following the end of the space program, he worked on aircraft carrier based avionics for the F-14 Tomcat fighter plane.

His engineering background is invaluable in dealing with building construction and technical issues.
